This morning while my wife was eating breakfast I came into the kitchen wearing the 34 waist jeans I bought a month ago and pulled out the waist band to show how slack they had gotten. All I said was that it's a curse being skinny-smack number one.My wife ,although she's in great shape , has a constant struggle keeping her weight at the same level. As a matter of fact a lot of my daughters' male friends tell them that their Mom is hot-I concur. Anyway I was driving her to work when a very very voluptuous jogger sauntered by in one of those seemingly sprayed on running suits, I just commented how gross she looked running around like that-smack number two.BTW I've managed to knock off about 60 lbs so far and have about 15-20 to go- never felt better.

Even Honest Abe made the same mistake.

That Commercial is right on the mark, Some things Never Change! I am Blessed to be single and won't change it for anything. I like that Tom Waits song, "Better off without a Wife" I think of his sentiments in that song whenever a woman asks a me stupid question ie; "we should move in together", or " don't you ever want to get married?", or the dreaded "Do You Love Me?" I have it down to a art form of pissing her off enough so she will take that show on the road. "The single life, That's the life for me" :D

My ex- asked me once if I missed picking up drunk chicks in the bar...

Sometimes honesty is not the best policy...

I feel your pain,
my basement got turned over from a nice studio I had to a gym.
Got to be 15K$ in torture equipment in it and the wife is working out a lot but can't seem to drop weight :)

I've learned to never say ANYTHING and just eat the lawn weeds she keeps trying to give us. Go out for real food when she is not around :)

I know what you mean Peterp, when the Mrs gets on the herbivore kick I used to go along with it but now I just refuse to eat these garden-on-a-plate concoctions and eat what I like, some things just don't taste nice unless you put 300 calories worth of salad dressing them, defeating the purpose of the salad anyway.

My wife is finally up to her ideal weight and she looks at me and says she's fat. I tell she looks great, but won't let it drop. That is when I put my shoes on and tell her let's go for a walk. That usually gets her to be quiet about her weight.

Never tell your wife she is overweight, unless you want smacked in the back of the head (lol). This can save some heartache down the road for some of us.

I'm sorry but I am overweight and can use the exercise, but she never goes with me on my walks.

Or maybe she's knocking it off you.. :P

Next time she hits you, just say, "Sweet!! There goes another half pound."

Obviously, just messin around. You might end up in the hospital if you keep that kind of joke going.

Ha! Competitive slimming on the Fender Forum! All right...

After losing weight very gently and steadily since last Christmas I have dropped four inches on the waist and am now the same size I was when I was 16 - thirty years ago! I'm now a 30 inch waist and weighing in at 150 lbs / 67.5 kg.

Do I sound smug? I certainly do! :D

Most offensive of all: it was absolutely easy. But then I quite like the rabbit food the rest of you hate.

Mrs C has also been trimming up and is in good shape too, I'm pleased to say.

Cheers - C

I could stand to lose 20 pounds myself, but I just can't bring myself to eat that crap that looks like something I scraped out of the bottom of my mower deck on my tractor  . My wife is somewhat round bottomed, but I tell her I don't care as long as she is still here with me.

I prefer beeing slightly overweight myself than beeing ran over by a bus, like those weirdos health gurus, trying to loose weight while jogging in the rush hour trafic, or dodging between cars to escape from reality and loose angry dogs. Men won't talk about excess weight in the same manner than women, but they do care in their own twisted ways. So these skinny slim old fart, they die too, eventualy, maybe from old age, but what's the point of living a miserable life by avoiding the very substance of life, food. Either you eat or you are eaten. What was the main reason that drove our cavemen ancestors out of the safety of their cave and into the wild? Food again. Food has always been the economic lever that guided civilization into the modern times. Think about a guy like Carl Von Linde, who was working on the principles of refrigeration in the nineteenth century. A big brewery (British or Irish I don't remember) financed his research so he could build them a huge refrigeration complex, to keep their beer cold and thus, make it more soothing for the working man. After that, refrigeration became more and more affordable and was built in smaller units, so they could be bought to keep the food cold or frozen into the houses of the common man. Beer was once the main reason why science was not overrated. Beer, like Einstein's relativity, symbolized the laws of the universe "explained for dummys". Science made solid, down to earth improvement for men and women when food was it's inspiration and it's motto. Think of the guys and gals abord the International Space Station, what do they do? They eat. They brought food in the most inhospitable and remote place, well not on earth but close enough. All this technology was developed so they could eat out there. Nineteenth century brought refrigeration, the twentieth brought space technology, what will it be next. Food was offered to Gods, Royalty, Ancestors, friends, workmates even hospitalized people. Who never secretly brought a box of chocolates or a cheeseburger to a sick hospitalized friend? Food heals, it is not only a nutriment, but a celebration of what is the best thing in life, that is to eat. So why would food have to be so mean by presenting itself only as weed and tofu? Because food is beeing manipulated by evil minded people who want to make more money by giving people less food for their hard earned dollar. I mean c'mon now, two beans on a leaf, or a cheeseburger? I say leave the raw vegetables and roots to the people who love them, it is cool by me. I can manage an occasional joke on my weight and I am aware of the consequences of overeating, but as I said, in the end, the love you take is equal to the food you ate.

Sorry for the rant. Man I can't believe that I wrote this. I hope that you will still talk to me after that. Now I'm off to eat.

Been demi-focused the last months and taken off 19 lbs with intent to do it agin, plus a few more.

Wife's been on her own and is losing s l o w, but HATES exercise, so doing the walking and biking is solo. Worth it tho. Feeling good.

Another joy of being married. eh?
