I'm on the same soapbox as Stratobobster,I've seen so much vintage gear trashed in the name of aethetics that I cringe when I hear about someone defacing old gear-call me OCD-I'm a big boy -I can take it.BTW I also hate someone taking a beautiful vintage car, chopping it up and making a hotrod.Last year in Hemmings Motor news there was a guy that had a one off 34 Packard that had a custom body built for a Mideast sheik and he said that if it didn't sell he was going to make a hotrod out of it- that stinks-you don't destroy art.

well lets do this, since im the one buying it, let me do with it as i please.
if you two want to, go buy your own and you can do with it what YOU want with yours. its not like its being defaced in any way or taken out of
commission at all. as it sets, where it sets, it hasnt been played in yrs. at least im putting this work of art (if it can honestly be called that) to use.
i dont buy gear to hug it, i buy it to use it. when im done with it i'll give it away, or if i think i'll have future use of it it will go in the walkin for a later date. if a piece of my gear gets customized, its because i wanted to do it and needed it done. its mine right? its really no different than changing the stock tubes to something else, or changing pickups on a guitar.
seriously, its only the covering guys. lets get a grip and focus on whats
more important, the covering or it actually being pulled out of storage and being put back to work.
maybe i should post up a few pics of a 63 strat i bought several yrs ago,
that was striped down. you would have something to talk about then.
then if you only knew what i did with it after i bought it.

You can always do what I'm doing and get a 1x15 cab for your Bassman then throw a D130F in there and be happy :D

ive nevr player a guitar through a 15in speaker.
i tried a old kustom amp once. it had a 15. i got all my pedals lined up
and ready to go. i got 3 chords in and the amp took a dump right there
on the spot. couldnt believe it. is there any advantage to a 15in speaker?

advantage = better sound :) for my ears everything sounds better with a 15, fuller, clearer, the highs and lows are just perfect! And I bet a 2x15 is even better.

Check out some clips on youtube, like the 64 Vibroverb Custom or Twin Custom.

i yoo was thinking a 2X12 would do the trick. nice and compact.

cedar
i would think a 15 be better suited for a bass rather than a 6string.
im just guessing mind you.
