Does anybody play/use Fender & nothing else? I'm talking bass/guitar, amp, strings, the whole 9 yards. Thinking about trying this myself & was wondering if anyone had an opinion. Thanks!

I don’t want to be that one dimensional.. too much great sounding stuff out there in the tone world to be taken advantage of. That being said lately for my super clean stuff I have been using my strat with fender strings on my Fender amp for late night practice sessions but that all depends on what sound I am looking to get at a cetin time.

Cheers
Bill

I tried doing the total Fender thing. It for me was not practical. If you can do it, cool. Just don't close your eyes to other gear out there.

I'm close but I use a G&L Legacy about half the time which I guess is still "Fender" maybe even truer than some of the modern stuff (although Leo might enjoy some of the new technology currently out there) and I vibro champ amp plus my tele but I hate fender strings and I am a strict Levy's strap guy

Agreed, Bill!

As far as picks, straps, strings, cables, effects pedals, etc go, Fender is a small fish in a very big pond.

For amps though, I won't play anything but.

Arjay

Lord i cant imagine using only fender stuff.
thats like living in onetown all your life and never leaving. ever.
theres a whole world out there rather than fender.
fender makes good stuff, but like arjay said above, they are very small
fish in a lot of ways.
go with quality names on products and you wont go wrong.
when i think of fender i dont think pedals. i think amps and guitars. when i think of pedals i think of Boss or fulltone for example. when i think picks i think of dunlop. follow me?

Thanks guys. What has started this is a process I just went through in which I had a P bass, sold it, played every other bass I could find, realized I missed the P, bought it back from the guy. I've been using a Line6 amp & feeling like it's missing something. I would love to have an Ampeg, can't afford one. My local store is a Fender dealer & my bass guy there is trying to sell me on the Rumble 350. It just got me thinking. I like my Fender flatwound strings, but I've never used their roundwounds. Just thought I would get some feedback.

I wouldnt use only Fender gear just for the sake of using only one company. However, I have started to use Fender picks...Hopefully its not too slippery of a $@!&#

simple solution#1
I have 1 SWR Workingman, 1 Sunn 2/15" Cabinet (unless you are really strong don't think about this cab), 1 Peavey 2/15" Cabinet
simple solution # 2

As much as I love Fender gear, playing would be pretty boring if that was all that I played, everyone needs some variety in their lives.

I play my Strats 80% of the time (I have other guitars too, but the Strats are my favorites). And I play my Fender Deluxe VM 99.99% of the time. So as far as guitars and amps go I definitely lean towards Fenders. And the next amp and guitar I'd like to get are Fenders too.

But as far as pedals, strings, and other accessories go I don't really use anything Fender. Except for Fender Medium picks, but I like Dunlop Tortex picks a little better.

at this point, yes, i've got everything Fender. But I'm getting about an Epiphone semi-hollow. It's good to have a variety of guitars IMO
