This past sat nite was the first night for the new band for me. Great crowd when we started at 9:30. They have a soundman/roadie, so I didn't have to do anything more than set my own gear up and play. They originaly hired me so that the other guitarist that also plays keyboard could put down the guitar and just play keys. Well, he played two songs on the keys all night, the rest of the time he was playing guitar. I had every intro and solo learned, and the guy walked all over me. Either he assumed I wasn't ready yet, or he's not ready to give up the spot just yet. Either way, I still had a blast. At the end of the night, I packed my stuff and left. I offered to help the sound guy load out, but he smiled and said, "that's my job".
The leader of the old band has posted a blog on the band site about how I betrayed him, and took the dirty way out and so on. I had told the Bass player in the old band that I would be glad to help out till they found someone, but now after reading his blog, I think I'll just let them deal with things on thier own. I gave the band a three week notice-don't you think that was enough?
