You alluded to a comparison I did not make, RVM.

To me, "standard Gibson fodder" is GC junk. Which is why none of my store-bought instruments were purchased there.

However, your point (as a stand-alone comment) is well-taken and I do in fact agree with it.

I have the Gibson Swamp Ash Les Paul Studio. After I got it, i sold the two Epiphone Les Pauls i had. They were nowhere near the Gibson. If you can afford the Gibson, get it. If you get the Epi you will always regret not getting the Gibson.
