Last night my buddy brought his new Marshall Haze and I plugged in my Epi Firebird V and was very impressed but when I tried my Guild S100SC (SG shape with oak leaves and acorns carved into it)I was blown away. The set neck and mahogany body and neck of the Guild brought out the monster lurking in the amp,of course the pups have a great deal to do with it.The Guild sustained just as well as it did through my JCM 800s. My only issue with it was that at low volumes the treble response is weak and you have to fiddle with the eq putting the treble and presence up full and the bass and mids a 12 o'clock.I haven't tried the Class Five yet but if as some people say it's better than the Haze it must be a truly phenominal amp. BTW the pups in the Guild were the same ones that Bernard Rico used in the earliest BC Riches before he started using DiMarzio.

Marshalls are good amps. I just have a 30 watt practice Marshall, but it sounds pretty good.

Thanks for the review. I am torn between the Class 5 and the Haze 40 watt combo. I have seen the reviews and heard the side by sides, but until I plug my own guitar(s) into them, I will not know which one I will get. I am saving for the Haze, once I have enough money for it I will do a comparison in the store. It will be interesting to see which one makes it home with me, I will post in a few more months the actual outcome.
