Thanks, CC.

You know, I was going to clean the house, to stay busy, but I couldn't. I don't want to get rid of those hairs yet. Crazy huh?

Not crazy at all gridlock. The fact that you have lost a true friend doesn't remove a single second of all the good times that you shared together. In the end, someone had to make a heartbreaking decision and only you could do it. You might feel bad about it now, but you also know that you did the right thing, as everybody here does. You did the right thing, so now live whathever comes to you. Even in your dreams. The mind has it's own healing process and it won't let you down. You've been hurt three times. When you learned that your friend was sick, when you had to put him to sleep, and now that you have to feel the pain. It takes some time to get through that. We all feel for you and you can come back anytime to talk about it. See ya.

Really sorry for your loss gridlock, hope everyones good wishes bring some comfort.

Many years ago (1981) just after my dad had been laid off as the local steelplant closed our dog suddenly became ill and despite everything we tried he died at home only a couple of months later. It was if he sensed my dads sadness as he knew that reallistically he was finished work wise.

I took the day off work with a made up illness to bury the family pet a mongrel called Mick in the back yard.
Dad never got another job and ive not had another dog since. Maybe its time i did. Plenty of rescue dogs need a home.

Best wishes mate.

Al

Believe me, we can feel something like what you're going thru. My German Shepherd is asleep at my feet while I type this. Every day when I
get home, Max is waiting for me by the door - not my wife, not my 2 daughters. Who knows...maybe theres some pooch out there waiting for you !!!

I know words dont really help heal the lose, but it helps to know how much people care. Im truely sorry to hear about your dog.
I have a 7 year pitbull/black lab mix dog named Sadie & she is my life. She is literally like my sister. I couldnt even imagine what I'd do if I lost her. So I cant really imagine your pain. But we all are here for you, & are sorry for you.

Thanks for the support everyone. Every bit helps. All the kind thoughts, all the stories, I appreciate it. I guess it's all just part of the process, (for ME, at least), of letting go.

Sigh!

Oh, man, condolences. What a loss.

When Angus, our Scottie left the realm a while ago, 'got a bass and named it after him. A big black one, so "playing with Angus" is still a reality.
