I just care about what shiny new toys are gonna be under the NAMM Christmas tree. Fender kinda shot their wad prematurely with the stealth intro of the stunning XD series at the little-touted off the beaten track LA Amp Show. I wonder what that leaves them to wow us with at NAMM?

I'm still most curious about the cryptic mysto product Craig Anderton teased us with at the less-than-stellar Summer NAMM: "I can't tell you what it is, but it is WAY cool, and if it was shown here it would have been the hit of the show!"

Ought to be a fun WN this time around.

Hey Fender! This is your site--throw us some Winter NAMM hints here! For instance, before the LA Amp Show, Shane casually said, "I'm bringing a couple of new amps." I thought he just meant a couple of unplayed amps from the factory, not the ground-shattering never-before-seen monsters the brand new XD series has been.

So Shane, you bringing "a couple of new amps" to NAMM???

That's noble of you to keep trying, Maruuk -- and I wouldn't expect anything less from ya. :-) But ... what you're asking would in a way be kinda the equivalent of asking Steve Jobs to spill the beans about new Apple products in advance of their rather flamboyant conferences. i.e., the whole point of our big presence at NAMM is to introduce the stuff to the world (and our retailers) with a bang!

If Shane tipped us off to LA, he can do the same for Winter NAMM! We just want "Yes, we are showing some new and cool products." Stuff like that.

This NAMM ought to be something. After Summer NAMM where nobody showed squat, there's a lot of tension building up, like a fault line that hasn't seen an earthquake in 500 years. I nthink we're going to see the amazing "mystery product" alluded to at Summer NAMM but not shown. Only the insiders got to see it, and it's supposed to be earth-shaking. Bring it on!

For me, I want to see a cheap midi guitar THAT ACTUALLY OUTPUTS MIDI! No more of this $400 interface box-plus-$200 awkward junky pickup crap with latency garbage.

If Yamaha can make a $200 guitar that outputs midi (including velocity!) and even hammer-on/offs with zero latency, why not Fender???

Winter NAMM is gonna be HUGE this year. Already Harmony Central has about 50 products listed in pre-NAMM PRs. I can practically smell the fresh Tolex now.

I'm still holding out hope for someday seeing a AVS 78' P bass. Seems plain wrong that Fender Japan has been making a model for years, but it isn't imported. There's really nothing else on my wishlist right now...though I'm waiting like a kid a Christmas, as always.

I am hoping that we don't see the Fender version of the robot guitar. The VG is plenty good for us.

I like this thread, it's like watching kids speculate about what Santa is going to bring them this year!

I really want Fender to bring a sub-$500 guitar midi controller with zero latency and direct midi out, none of this 13-pin crap. It's very doable, Yamaha has the basic hardware already in their EZ-EG/EZ-AG series.

Then you could plug it straight into your G-DEC and play all the tones. Kewl.
