is there a paricular singer whose voice just makes you wonder how they ever got signed? i'm not talking about any certain genre, just that singer that you don't think has a good voice. here's a few from me

chris montez- many hits in the sixties- sounds like he can't hit a note

kim carnes- why not wait until her voice clears up?

bonnie tyler- see kim carnes

michael bolton- for obvious reasons

macy gray- just don't get it

your choices?

Man, when you mention Michael Bolton, my lunch came up :D
I hate to be "old School" but what the hell. I seriously wonder about most of todays "Popular" acts ie: Lady Gag Gag, Taio Cruz, Mumford and Sons, etc.

I ask this group of diversified music scholars... IS THIS WHAT WE HAVE TO LOOK FORWARD TO?????
:D

the ARTIC F***ING MONKEYS!!!!

I hate them. There is NO talent to their singing, lyrics or guitar playing.
Can't stand them. They really are less fun to listen to than the sound of your kitten being drowned.

And to make it even worse, it seems like I am the only one who notices their flaws on this little island of Great Britain. Everyone else seems to love them. Plus they really seem like a bunch of twats.

AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Stevie Nicks!

The raspy timbre of her voice could eat the zinc plating right off of a galvanized-steel milk jug!

Bob Dylan.

Yeah, I know I'll be bashed for it. I personally think the man sounds like an asthmatic elephant with a head cold.

I don't care for his harmonica skills or guitar skills. His lyrics are mildly interesting at best ...

Mostly ALL of these POP acts you hear now, including lady gaga and justin beeber are not using their real voice any way. They are singing through that digital microphone that cher used it that horrendous song she sang a couple of years back. One dosen't even have to be in key or have a voice anymore because it's not their natural voice that is being heard. Thats how the music industry has come to the state it's in with most "popular" music ( i use the term MUSIC loosely ) all they want is some model or wannabe to get up there and sing into the magic microphone. Digital Music for the masses. I'm glad I'm over 40 and remember when Aerosmith live bootleg came out. Now That was an Album!! 8)

I have never liked Geddy Lee's singing at all so much so that I don't have one Rush song let alone album in my vast collection.Bob Dylan's voice has become almost unbearable,I did like his voice in the era of Blonde on Blonde,Highway 61 Revisited,John Wesley Harding etc. but now his voice has just become a raspy croak however his lyrics have always been brilliant.I can't listen to Anne Murray,Rita Mac Neil or Shania Twain either. Steve Earle once said of Shania"Not hard to look at but awfull hard to listen to."I may raise a few hackles here but I never took to Axel Rose's voice,it always sounded too forced or strained,it just sounded to me like his stomach was just about to give his dinner an eviction notice.
