Imagine Cyndi Lauper singing the blues.......

Her new CD is just that. It's called "Memphis Blues", and it's pretty good.

I had heard about it a few months back was absolutely curious. I know Cyndi has an excellent voice even through the pop stuff she sang. Sirius Blues started playing tracks from her CD and I was truly impressed.

I'll definitely check this out. I saw her a few weeks ago on one of the late-nite shows doing a blues tune(I assume from this album) and I liked it. I've always liked her singing voice, even tho I didn't care for the music itself.
Quick Update: Just cheked out the preview on YT, will definitely get this. Did I hear B.B.King on there?

She has a great voice and she sings from true experience. Not a copy and paste singer. I always liked her. :)

I haven't listened to much of her stuff but could tell she has a good voice, and I saw an interview a couple of weeks ago and she's funny...she actually does have a brain.
I'm going to check this one out.

Blimey!

I wasn't expecting that! She pulls it off pretty well. If i didn't know who was singing i certainly would not have said it was her! :D

not a fan since the 80's.
her musicians are sounding good.
i just dont think the cd will be taken seriously.
cindy has had flop after flop for 15 yrs now.
a blues disk isnt the ticket to get her out of the rut.
yeah i hope she does well with it but it wont help her status
at this point.

I love Cyndi, and this album looks like it's worth a look.

Here she is with Jonny Lang: Crossroads

I liked the crossroads version she does

I actually like her music.... the old pop stuff because, it sounds pretty cool slowed down and played on an acoustic

In a similar vein, you might also like this jazzy version of a B-52s song by Cindy Wilson: Roam (acoustic version) 8)
