Remember the days when you wanted to change the channel you had to get up and go to the TV even to turn it on. Black and White TV at that.

You could lift the hood of your car and more or less tune it up with a strobe light, feeler gauges, screw drivers, sockets and spanners, wire brush and emery paper............sorted
Don't forget a piece of chalk to mark that timing line. Always helped see it in the flash while turning.

Chalk - check - sorted :)

It was more fun tuning by ear, and most times just as accurate.

You could also use a folded $1 bill rubbed between the point contacts to clean and smooth.

when you could have a decent conversation about politics (among other things), and not have it turn into a screaming match.

nowadays, someone asks your opinion on a subject, and they rip you up and down for feelin that way. if you don't want to know- don't ask!

When I made my first amp from an 8-track tape player and an old Ampro speaker with a Tele copy and a popsicle stick for a bridge. Things only got better from there.

A hamburger, fries and coke at McDonalds for less than a dollar. that is right, you gave the cashier 1 dollar and got almost half of it back in change

Hamburger - $0.18
Fries - $0.15
small Coke - $0.10
Tax - $?
