I remember buying a 45rpm record for .49 cents, an album for $2.49.
Buying my first used Strat for $100, a new Twin Reverb for $395.
Riding in the back of my Dad's pick up truck.
Buying my first used car- a 65 Corvair for $100
Going to Henry's Hamburgers ( like a McDonalds) after school and getting a hamburger, fries and a coke for .50 cents.
Riding my bike all day on a Saturday and my folks never had to worry about where I was
Buying a gallon of milk at the store and it came in a heavy glass jug
My first girl friend. her name was Cindy Britson.
Seeing the Beatles on Ed Sullivan, and listening to my folks wonder what the world was coming to.........

Can't forget Drive In movies. And going to the snack shake doing intermission.

I remember that. It was just about the same time that the PX prices for Revell model kits jumped from 70¢ to $1.05.

Sometimes we just couldn't win......

I believe there are 11 States that currently charge bottle deposits. Some things go around.

Back in '87 my home cost 82K and change.

Today, that's the MSRP for a new loaded Toyota Landcruiser!

Ouch!

Yes, I think just since 1990 the cost of many things have accelerated so much faster then the past and sadly income has not kept up for most. I could not afford to buy My current home at todays prices. Lucky I bought this one 12 years ago before the bubble!

Don't forget a piece of chalk to mark that timing line. Always helped see it in the flash while turning.

It was more fun tuning by ear, and most times just as accurate.
