Our tv was black and white, had tubes, 13 stations on the dial and not all of them worked, antennae on the roof and when changing channels had to turn the antennae.

13 Channels?? That must have been a luxury. We only had 2.

LOL.. the tv had 13 channels. We only had 2.. ABC & NBC

I remember watching the Batman TV show that boasted at the bottom of the screen that it was "IN COLOR" but I was watching it in black and white.

I remember when HO scale slot cars took skill to drive. That was before they started making then with the motor magnets close to the track to hold them down.

Remember when they pumped the gas for you? And, washed your windows after checking your tires and oil.

And to go one step further back ... wore an oil company specific jacket, cap and (usually) bow tie too. On top of that, early broadcasters soon discovered that the weather spot on the nightly news had high traffic, so the oil companies often sponsored the nightly weather. In that case, the TV weatherman typically dressed in the same uniform as the oil company sponsor.

+1
And when you went to your friend's house to watch (because they had the first colour TV in the neighborhood) those TVs were really crappy. The colours were not very reall looking and they'd bleed into each other and the whole screen would roll up and down and you always had to peroidically adjust the 'horizontal setting" to try to tame it.

I remember 1969-1972 concert tickets, $3.00-$3.50. Jimi Hendrix was $4.00.

+1000!

I remember attending a concert at the Warehouse in "Nawlins" back in the summer of '72......

The Doobie Brothers, Humble Pie, and Deep Purple.

Open seating, $5.50 a ticket.

Those were the days!

When Vintage was actually pre 1950 and now it's pre 1985 ( garbage )

When you could buy a 59 Les Paul Custom Black Beauty, 2 pickup fretless wonder for $250.00

Really trying hard to make a good first impression on the board I guess, huh? This will be an interesting experiment to watch, ie: your status and rep here. Who knows, maybe you can play the role of George Castanza on the episode where he told the girl he was unemployed and lived with his parents and yet somehow still got the girl.

I'm inclined to give the gentleman a second chance. We've all experienced desperation and frustration of one sort or another at some point in time. Besides, I like surfers (and surf music).

Point taken.

However, I wasn't bitchin' him out.
I was only observing it was a curious dynamic he was building for himself and doing it in a hurry.
