Or, my brand new '69 SS350 Camaro (that cost around $3000 if memory serves me)....What was gas- $.25 to $.30 a gallon?

Indeed. About a quarter a gallon in KCMO (aka "Kozmic City").

I had a '69 SS350 Camaro for a time as well (a white drop-top Rallye Sport, with the Pace Car package).

What a swell ride it was!

...when you could go to a hobby store, buy a plastic model and the glue came with it, and a huge slice of pizza cost 15¢ at the subway station pizzeria.

...when kids went outside to play, rode bikes as transportation, actually played face to face with their friends, had guitars with no buttons on the fingerboard and only played video games when there was nothing better to do.

Damn xbox live

Remember when MTV actually played music instead of all this reality show crap?

Or when music wasn't so heavy-laden with Autotune, when there were real guitar riffs, or when the lead singers didn't sing in a prepubescent voice and didn't sing about their emotions all the time?

I remember that one well. Houndstooth seat trim (orange and black). My friends sister had one. Guess we're both getting OLD!

Indeed.

Guess I'll pour myself a bowlful of Kellogg's Sugar Pops and have a glass of Bosco then check out the latest "Speedy Gonzales" cartoon.

Or, a '69 Nova SS350, where I could splurge and get Sunoco 260 for 39 cents a gallon. Set me back a whopping $2,100. And, you could go to the auto parts store and get points and plugs for a few bucks. Assuming it wasn't Sunday 'cuz everything was closed.

+1, but then again if the internet didn't exist where would this be?

i love this thread. i think it will go for a little while. my 2 cents.........
when young folks said yes maam and yessir because they were raised to respect their elders
when men opened a door for a lady
when you didn't have to press "one" for english
when we bought things actually made in america
when kids would push a mower around with a can of gas and offer to mow your grass and rake leaves
when it was okay to pray in public
when pro athletes played and didn't talk smack
when we actually made friends instead of fabricating ones on the intranet
when folks actually drove with 2 hands on the wheel
when you didn't have to wear a helmet to ride a bicycle

i could go on but i won't right now. i just miss the "old" days i guess.
