what happened to the offspring between 97 and 99?!?! in 97 their studio stuff was still good and they performed it right... by 99 they had released that idiocy that is Americana and the live performances were getting extremely sloppy :?

Many bands, with some exceptions (AC-DC immediately springs to mind), feel compelled to "grow and evolve" which frequently leaves fans of the original work feeling let down. It's the nature of the bidness. I'm sure producers often have a big say in that as well.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Offspring spark a happy nostalgia for me. Other than that (to be honest) I don’t rate them too high

For me grunge was all about Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.

Soundgarden and Pearl Jam = Awesomeness! 8)

Rock on!

Andy

Hi Floyd,

Yeah, I reckon your right on that one :D

I'd rather unceremoniously lumped them in with the dominant sub-genre of the time and agree that they are more punk than grunge.

Soundgarden, Jesus Christ Pose, TUNE!!! The other vid wouldn't play:?

Cheers!

Andy

You play the same songs over and over again every night for a period of several years, sometimes not because you want to, but because you have to...then sometimes when you write new material, it may not sound like old material since you are sick of playing the old stuff...
