Some of you may recall that a couple of weeks ago that my daughter visited with her boyfriend. He was a confirmed metal fan but I got him interested in real musicians like Jimi Hendrix,Muddy Waters,Buddy Guy etc. Yesterday as a token of appreciation he sent me an original uncirculated ticket for the Sunday(the day Jimi played)concert. Apparently these tickets had been sealed in a safe and forgotten about until recently discovered. Before naysayers and skeptics weigh in, it comes with a letter of authenticity signed by the original backers involved with Woodstock. I guess I must have made a favourable impression on her boyfriend because these tickets are understandably very expensive-I hope that she hangs on to this guy-he may even start playing classic rock and blues and probably abandon metal altogether-one can always live in hope.

Very cool, is it for the original venue or for yasgur's farm?

It appears that it is for the Yasgur's Farm concert where ticket sales were suspended and it was turned into a free festival.

I think that I'll hang on to it for a good while,my sister and her husband gave me a package of Woodstock picks for my birthday and I'm planning on putting the ticket in a frame and surrounding it with the picks.

It's never too late for Woodstock. It sucked when they tried to redo it and commercialized it death. You can't recreate something like that. Some corporate suites have no brains. It was a piece of American history in some very troubled times. I tried to go but my father squashed it. I was only 14 at the time.LOL

That's a nice little gift.

Those aren't too hard to find though.
You can get the tickets for each of the 3 days and/or a 3-day ticket.
I bought the set a few years ago.

I'll try to get up a pick ASAP but I'll have to wait 'til my computer literate buddy drops by to get it on Photobucket etc. I'm an analogue guy in a digital age lol.
