Hi, I am kinda new to guitars and want a Fender really bad but feel I should try out a more affordable Squier until I know if I am really going to get into playing the guitar. I have had Carpal Tunnel syndrome in my left hand and just want to make sure there are no problems. If no problems occure I will spend more for a real Fender. My question is: which Squier is most like a Fender Strat and are they the exact same dimensions. Thanks for any answers in advance. By the way this is a sweet forum.

I've never owned a Squier but since they are CNC machined I would imagine that all the physical dimensions are basically identical from one Strat to the next with the exception of the neck profile and size of the frets. I guess you could also get more technical and talk about the physical placement of screw holes for the neck and scratch-plate and bridge but those won't factor into how the overall guitar fits your comfort level.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

After the gear carnage from the Nashville floods, I've heard that many are scooping up the VM Teles :

My guess is that many guitar techs are busy modifying these puppies.

Although I don't have much experience with Squire Strats I have heard only positive reviews of them.Jeff Healey swore by Squire Strats even though he could well afford MIA Fenders-I think that this fact can attest to their quality.

The VM Squier's are indeed awesome. But the Classic Vibe's are really amazing instruments. Definitely check those out.
