I always treat these list the same, read it until I see a name that is way out of place, then stop reading it.... no point.
For me that came at 13. Jack White
after that, you know the list is crazy

Rolling Stone's made a list, "The Top 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time".

Neil Young was above 50. Stupefyingly incorrect.

Slash is on there. See #34 of Gibson's Poll and #9 of the Reader's Poll.

I love Neil Young as an important and relevant songwriter but he leaves a lot to be desired as a guitar player.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Too many guitar giants to list were left out and Jack White beating out some of the best players that ever picked up a guitar is nuts.Granted Jack White is a very good guitar player he doesn't deserve to hold a pi$$pot for some of the legends he beat out.As for Keith Richards in 3rd place I think that that's a bit out of whack,Brian Jones was 5 times the guitarist Keith is and he didn't get a look in.Don't get me wrong I'd be the first to admit that Richards is a fine guitarist but many more are/were far better players than he is.As for Prince he is also very under rated, his playing is very fluid and extremely soulful.I didn't notice if Ernie Isley got a look in,if not he should have been rather than Jack White.

They put The Edge in front of Roy Buchanan and Ry Cooder? The Guy who made this list must listen to Disco. 8)

the fact that cobain even came into their heads while making that list was enough to almost make me piss myself... I'm a huge fan of Kurt and Nirvana, but the man's name doesnt belong anywhere near a greatest guitarists list... and Keith Richards at #3? yea, ok... hes good, but nothing truly amazing.
