I have a Longines automatic watch that Mrs mondo bought for me after we'd been together a year or so... quite correctly, she thought I'd like looking at the movement through the crystal back. As an old clockwork camera-wielding animator, I do enjoy fine mechanical devices.

For the times I can't or won't wear that, there's a titanium field watch — the name escapes me at the moment. It's a good, practical design if there's some more vigourous activity on the cards.

Can't believe I'm talking about watches on the Fender Forum.

Oh dear - bit of a sad watch geek here, I'm afraid. I have a weird interest in small "bespoke" watch makers. This is the website of a gentleman in my country who commissions small runs of watches to be made by various Swiss and German outfits, often based on the specs of old military issue pieces and also classic aviation designs. I have a few of these, sadly not the tasty limited issue Dreadnought (under "archive" on this site) - missed out on that one:

http://www.timefactors.com/precista.htm

I do have the Precista 300 Metre Automatic Diver's watch on that page - and unlike some I actually use it for diving!

I also have a couple of the nicer Seiko diver's watches, a white face Seiko Samurai for example; and next time I pass through Dubai dutyfree shop I have a wild plan to pick up the inevitable Omega Seamaster. Tarty of me, huh?

Cheers - C

Ditto! I have one that was given to me as a ten-year anniversary "celebration" where I work. Mine has the blank black face with the "jewel" at the 12:00 point.

Okay, I'll play.

I have 2 that are more formal, a Fossil and a Grenen, plus I have a digital that I don't wear anymore, I honestly can't remember the brand.

My current favorite is the Grenen. It has a nice ban that doesn't irritate the skin any and it is light.

If someone that doesn't wear a watch asks me the time, I always tell it's about a half hour later or earlier than it is  . I guess I just like to have at other peoples expense.

My two favorites a Casio Diver watch my wife gave me for Christmas 2 years ago and a Casio G Shock my wife bought me for my last tour in Iraq. They are all I wear daily. For formal occasions she bought me a beautiful Kenneth Cole Dress watch. They have such sentimental value money could never replace them.

I have the same watch except with the silver face. My father-in-law bought it for himself. But he did not like it and gave it to me after a week. The Seiko replaced my Omega Seamaster from the late '80s that has had many issues over its life. The Seiko has been much MORE dependable and is a better timepiece ... but I still miss the Omega.

Omega seamaster for me. Theres a few variations to it, and I change my opinion on my favourite from time to time.

Rolex Submariner and Datejust II are also high up on my list.

Definately with silver or white gold though. NO YELLOW GOLD. I really don't like it, looks too gimmicky to me.

The MIM versions of these watches are pretty good too.

They're known in El Norte respectively as "Amiga" and "Raulex".

I find watches and jewelry uncomfortable, I can't stand having a wallet or a bunch of stuff in my pockets either. I use the clock on my cell phone when I carry it, But that thing is a huge annoyance too, So I almost never have it with me. Oh Well...
