Today I returned from a stay on beautiful Fogo Island,NL where I attended a family wedding.While there I connected with several cousins that I influenced and mentored years ago and they have all become very competent professional musicians-and all are Fender players-my influence probably-but these guys are phenominal and could hold their own up against anyone.There are a large number of professional musicians in my family and several have had successful recording careers.One cousin in particular is well known in his area for his Hendrix covers and even gets a regular private gig in British Columbia after a very well to do business man heard him play and was so impresses that he flies him all expenses paid to play at his private parties-great work if you can get it.

it's great when you can get family together to play. when i took lessons in the 60's, my aunt played the organ, my uncle drums, had cousins who played piano, an uncle who played mandolin, and a few others who played different things. we played together often, and i learned a lot of different music from them.

unfortunately some are no longer able to play, and a few just quit playing altogether.

gosh i miss those days....
