Without going to far into it, I agree with it and hope my state would do the same.

Same, living in northern California it just seems like there's more and more illegals coming here every day

Even most of the liberal democrats in this state (AZ) support 1070... Why is that ? Because they live here and are more informed of what goes on in this state...

What makes me mad is not that others oppose the law... Its that the reasoning to oppose it, is typically based on lies... My sister (who opposes 1070) just moved here from Maryland and was going off in my face about how racist the law was and she doesn't even know how its to be enforced and that the border patrol has been practicing 1070 for god knows how long... I tell ya, its enough to really piss ya off..

How many of you right coasters know that we have checkpoints beyond the border where everyone is stopped and questioned about their citizenship ?? I'll bet not too many of you..

I got pulled over at the Canadian border searched and checked out. I have no problem with it. I'm a regular white guy with no criminal record. If you're legal it shouldn't be a problem. Time for people to stop whining and protect our jobs and borders. Contrary to popular belief, the Mexican construction workers are making well above minimum wage. That bust the illegals all the time with fake documentation. The employers play stupid.

I'll tell you what, be an American and busted for something in Mexico. :?

I journey to Mexico once each month to shop for cigarettes and you better believe, I always keep my US State Department citizenship documents on my person. And I'm always on my best behavior while on the Mexican side of the fontier to avoid any "imperial entanglements". También, yo hablo y entiendo un poco de Español and that helps considerably.

As for SB1070, it is vital to my state's survival since the feds have consistently abrogated and ignored their constitutionally-charged responsibility to keep Arizonans safe from all enemies, foreign and domestic. As a 25-year resident of Cochise County, Bob Kreunz was a personal acquaintance of mine and we won't forget him anytime soon.

What part of the word illegal do the opponents don't understand? The federal government needs to enforce the laws that have already been implemented, and go after the sanctuary cities like San Francisco, Houston, and Boston, as well as the others. Your president (not mine, I did'nt vote for him) is a liar, and never even read the bill. No one is going to ask for anyones papers when their buying ice cream for their grand children. My god, what have our politicians come to when they have to resort to lying to sway the public opinion. I love the fact that 70% of the Arizona population agrees with SB1070, and 60% of the American Population agrees with SB1070.

I invite everyone in the country that does'nt live in Arizona, and opposes SB1070 to pack up their belongings and move down to Tucson, Sierra Vista, Douglas, or any of the other border cities and experience what is really going on with the illegal immigration problem in Arizona. It's not only the border cities either. Phoenix is now the #1 city for kidnapping in the U.S., and 2nd to Mexico City in the world. The people doing this kidnapping are illegals who are "coyotes" who smuggle these people into the country and hold their own customers for ransome to get more money from their families back in Mexico. They also sell their own customers into prostitution, and make the same people carry drugs into the U.S. while trekking through the desert to get here. Theft of identification is also out of control in Arizona, as well. If you live here, you had better guard your social security number with your life, or your life will become a living nightmare if one of the illegals get a hold of your number.

Something must be done, and as of late we cannot rely on our federal government to do the job, because they have'nt for 30years. Don't believe the bastards in Washington D.C. They are all liars!

No comment. I do not want to stir a hornet's nest. Let's just say if it wasn't for the fact my govenor wasn't running for office, he'd already pushed a bill through the state capital for a similar bill, but he's too worried about being re-elected.

The only thing I would change about Arizona's law is to have it read that every person pulled over or stopped must show proof of citizenship, not just suspected illegal aliens. Cannot fight a law that discriminates against everyone, because then it applies to everyone regardless of accent or skin color.
