Does Fender have something against a Rosewood fretboard Esquire? They currnetly produce Esquire's in three different colors, but none with the rosewood fretboard, only maple.

Does Fender not realize the market for a burst Esquire with a rosewood fretboard? If Fender were to put one out for $1,000 they would sell out on the first day of release. There are a ton of Beatle fanatics out there (myself included) who buy gear just like the Fab Four played. Epiphone makes a killing selling inspired by Beatles gear, doesn't Fender see that? Fender get on the ball and release a rosewood fretboard burst Esquire, please.

My guess would be to avoid the whole "Too Much sizzle" issue.

(Inside joke on going in the strat forum)

Okay, My guess would be that they feel most buyers want it the way in first came out, maple board and all.

I would say that you do have some options here tho....

1) You can buy a new Tellie and replace the tone circuit then remove the neck pick-up and install an esquire pick guard.
This would let you choice the neck radius and fret type you want, instead of being stuck with and small frets and a 7.25 board.

2) There is always the custom shop.

3) You can buy an esquire and replace the neck, there are necks available off e-bay used, new and Fender authorized replacements you can do as well.

4) You could order one form the custom shop.

5) Call Corona and ask if you can special order an esquire with a rosewood board. It might take a bit as they would need to take a tellie neck in the paint shop and change the decal to esquire.

It's worth a shot, and the worst they will say is no.

6) Did I say they have a custom shop available?

I appreciate your options, but Paul used this guitar maybe four times. What you suggest is a lot of effort just to play the lead on "Good Morning, Good Morning."

Once again, if Fender simply produced one where the only effort put in by the buyer is to go to a store and buy one, then these rosewood fretboard Esquires would sell a ton.

I have a feeling that Fender one day will release one of these. Gretsch, Ric, Epiphone all are producing Beatle spec guiatrs that are selling like mad.

I personally prefer maple fret boards on Fenders and if I saw a Esquire with a rosewood finger board I'd be sick.... Paul can get away with because well, he is who he is and is one of my heroes and the main reason I started writing and playing music.....

....but it would be cool for those who like them such as yourself and I'm sure most people just wouldn't play the solo to "Good Morning, Good Morning" lol
