Found a Squire Strat white with a maple neck/fretboard at the shop were I repair guitars. The owner had colored most of the front of it with blue magic marker, carved names and initials all over it they call it roadworn it was in really bad shape cosmetically the neck is fine so shop owner sells it for $100. Same story with the neck I just put on my back-up bass, it needed a couple of shims but sings like a canary now, a 900 pound canary but you get the picture.

My partscaster was in need of a new neck a few months ago. Got to looking around and found a Mighty Mite, Fender licensed neck on Amazon for around $100.00. I thought "why not?". Man, was I surprised. This neck is great! It has a much better feel than the original neck I had on the guitar. You could give one of those a try. I don't think you would be disappointed.

Hi Jeffo, you also might want to check out Warmoth for a a Fender licecensed neck. They have some ready made in stock or they can custom make one to your specs. I just had one made for my Tele and am well pleased.

I've purchased four or five necks from The Stratoshere and they've all worked well for the projects I had in mind. They usually have a good selection of Strat bodies as well.

AFAIK, there shouldn't be any interchangeability problems if you decide on the Highway 1 neck.

Best of luck, HTH

A friend found a complete, mint '08 Hwy 1 on craigslist for a really good price. After swapping out the neck on another project, he sold the remains and ended up getting the neck for nada!
