my mom called me the other day and said she had something for me. so i go over to the folks house, and she gives me a scrapbook holding photos and articles about the band i was in from 1966-72. what a hoot! keep in mind now, i was 12 years old in 1966. we played at a lot of special events, had our pictures in the paper, and were on local tv a few times. i forgot about these pictures. what great memories.

why not tell us about your 15 minutes?

That's awesome. I think there is some video of me in an Elvis band 20 years ago. I would like to find it.

I played drums in a punk band called UINIVITED, from 1994 until late 1997. It aws a three piece and we played a lot of gigs in the Connecticut, NYC,and some Boston gigs. Our biggest night was being one of several bands opening for the Misfits (post Danzig) in Danbury CT, and we played a Gig with the Casulties at the Rathskellar at Kenmore Square in Boston with several other bands, played about 4 gigs at CBGB's on Bowery in NYC, and also at the Under Acme on Great Jones. and a Few gigs at Toads place in New Haven CT. on a local night ticketbut my favorite gigs were in the smaller bars, Cheri's in New Haven, Coconuts in West Haven. That was when our regular neighborhood crowd was all there. that band got the most exposure of any I was ever in, and needless to say, at the time, as fun as it was playing on stage, I't was just as fun living the life full time 100% and it took it's toll. Band fighting, ego trips, hard drinking and hard drugs, other bands and womens influence. We broke up after three great years and I hav not played in a band since and I now am a Strat Playing Blues lover. That punkrock lifestyle will either Kill You, or take the wind out of your sails if you do it right. 8)

Not sure if I would call it my 15 mins of fame... I have jammed with a few great Blues musicians, Chris Cain, Lucky Peterson, Kenny Neal, Joe Louis Walker...

But the most memorable moment for me was in '92, when Mr. Albert King passed away. I was a huge fan, when I heard the news on the radio I drove up to Memphis the next day to be at the service. That night Mr. King's band had a get together at his favorite hangout, for all the musicians that were there, a place on Beale St that I can't recall the name now. I got to meet the band and we talked, they invited me up on stage as well. After 2 or 3 songs, Joe Walsh walked in, when we finished the song they called him up, he didn't have a guitar, I was the only guitar player on stage at the time, so I handed him my guitar. He did one song and gave the guitar back and borrowed another, guess he didn't like it :) The jam went on for a few hours, so many great musicians stopped by!

Aside from playing some 2000 professional gigs I haven't really done anything remarkable as far as the guitar goes. But I've done some professional acting -- most recently in a low-budget William Shatner sci-fi reeker called "Groom Lake"......

Ricky Medlocke of Lynyrd Skynyrd was a member of the cast (he also scored parts of the movie) and we used to hang out at his trailer between takes and jam, along with the film's star Dan Gaultier who is also quite an accomplished guitarist.

I haven't had my 15 minutes yet....it's hard to get it here in Music City.
I've jammed with some great musicians, and hung around lots more with friends and family who are,or have been in the bigtime, but that's all.
That's okay though,fame...whether for 15 minutes or 15 years, ain't what it's cracked up to be from what I've seen.
And none of the guys who I know that are so talented, are neither rich nor famous....they mostly make the famous people sound better.

My claim to fame is a very minor mention on another guitar player's wiki page who is semi-famous ...

Woo-hoo ... I can barely stand it (yeah, right ... )
It is so inconsequential I do not have the stomach to even provide a link here.

yeah, this was back in 1997, I think there was only two original guys in the band. They were great back in the '80's. But you want to talk about guys on an Ego trip, They acted like they were playing Monsters of Rock, It was at a local joint called Subzero in Danbury, Connecticut. I didn't even hang out backstage because of the sheer number of Idiots and hangers on there. Their drum tech was cool, He let me borrow some wing nuts for my Cymbal stands. From that crew that was huge. It goes to show you that there can be a cool person in a crew of jerks. 8) BTW Floyd, I checked out your links, you brought me back to the '80's. Great Tunes!
