That darned guitar player who keeps noodling between songs at practice. It is so annoying when someone is trying to comment or point out a change thats needed in the song. I don't let it bother me too much when they throw things at me because they can't get my attention... :oops: :wink:

That describes me... I'm the guy who noodles away between songs... usually because I can't keep still and I have to be doing something

My adult ADD kicks in and I do the same. I can't stop it.

In my last band the other guitarist decided he always had to play something different from me even if the song didn't need lead in that bit.
He also had a thing of turning his amp up all the time so you couldn't hear anything else but him and the drums. Even though we had set the levels for the bass, guitars and vocals to mix right with the drums at the beginning of practice.

I am very thorough in preparing for a jam session. I'll make sure all of my bandmates (in various bands over the years) have recordings of all of the songs we're doing. I'll make sure they have sheets/chord charts/tabs of the songs and most of them do the same.

I'll even discuss the arrangements with them. I get to practice and there's one in every band who, no matter how much you prepare, has not listened to or practiced the material and then you spend the entire jam teaching him the song, sometimes the same song every time. This is usually the same guy who wants to know why we don't gig. ARGH!

Not showing up to practices, agreeing to favors without asking everyone, and drugs drugs drugs.

But that applies to me too ^^;;

How about the rhythm guitarist telling me to turn my amp & gain down to the point where i can barely hear myself play 4 feet in front of it, while his volume & gain are both dimed??? That was annoying.

haha.. lots actually.. i have been told by our drummer to not follow his drum pattern because he plays in a syncopated manner.. i don't know what that meant... and I hated the songlist... its like playing a song with 4 chords in it over and over again.. how would stringed players feel?

Yep, had that with a drummer. Some of the guys I jam with now do a little too much weed and things get a little non productive and start wandering off into Grateful Dead territory. That's usually when I go. It's a shame because they are all really talented musicians. The harp player doesn't like to be around the smoke. We usually wind up just coming to my place to jam a while.
