Wow, Rebecca.
Just wow.
....
That's the only word that comes to mind when I see and hear your playing.

My GOD, you are truly destined for stardom. :P I am NOT joking when I say this. You have a fantastic future ahead of you, and I hope you know that!! :D

....
You know what, watching and hearing both of those videos has really inspired me to just grab my guitar, sit down, and just enjoy. Enjoy learning, enjoy practicing, and enjoy the thing that I love most in the world--making music.

Thank you for playing so well. :D
I hope that you will never stop making music, as you truly have a gift for it.

Excellent playing. I love to see my fellow female players rip it up. Keep up the good work.

Guys, don't waste your breath on 8hank31. :?

Let's keep the focus on texasguitarslinger's great playing. Here are the videos again:

Don't Lose Your Cool

Riviera Paradise

Bonus: Here's a clip from the clinic that Hubert Sumlin and Steady Rollin' Bob Margolin did:

Goin' Down Slow

Enjoy! 8)

Thanks for taking up for me guys. :) I've always felt really welcomed here, and just because one guy comes on and makes a rude comment doesn't change that. I just let it roll off my back, I'm not going to get hung up on every bad thing anyone says about me. Especially when it's from someone who doesn't even know me.

All the encouragement and support from you guys has played a big part in how I've been able to grow so much musically over the last year, and I'm not going to let something as small as this overshadow that or taint the future. :D

Hi guys: not around much at present - busy with... stuff.

But I just had to drop in to say - what a charming photo! That is SO cool: congrats to both of you! :D

TGS: I read your two-post story very carefully. It sounds totally knockout, and apart from anything else I have to compliment you on the modest way you describe the whole thing. That on top of your playing shows you have star quality written all over you! Way to go: onward an upward! You're heading high.

And BTW: kudos to russianracehorse for starting this thread, one of the nicest we've had round here in a long time.

High fives all round, people! :D :D :D

Cheers, y'all - C

PS Oh, and a special thumbs up to SBLS. A true gent!

I just watched the videos and I must say that it takes very very great playing to impress me-let's say that I'm extremely impressed. My little Forum sister you are well on your way to becoming a force to be reckoned with in the blues field and we'll be seeing your name in lights.

RRH thank you so much for posting the link with Hubert Sumlin and Bob Margolin. I love to jam with them, slowly, taking time to savor the licks and the guitar talking duo. There is more to Blues than just playing fast with top money state of the art gear. :D Thanks again.

+1

This thread put a huge smile on my tired, overworked face! :D

TGS, awesome chops! I have huge respect for anyone who can command a drummer with the mere point of a finger. My old drummer would bite my finger off if I tried anything like that! You however managed to master two drummers which clearly puts you in Jedi territory!

RR, 50 points for getting up on stage for the first time, something I no long have the courage for. Respect!

You both Rock ….hard 8)

Looking forward to your report on how to be a Viking Mr C! (only once the ...stuff is all sorted of course ) I've ordered that drill guide from Axminster, i'll post a full review in my thread once it arrives.

Stay frosty!

Enjoy!

Andy
