My favorite solid state is my Fender FM 212R, though I do wanna work my way up to a tube amp ('65 Twin or Deluxe Reverb) eventually when I can afford it

I have a Stage 100 DSP with the matching DT112 extension cab. While it would never convince anyone that it was powered by "glass" it sounds pretty good and has a nice selection of usable effects. Oh......and did I mention that it was loud? My wife calls it the "micro-stack from hell".

Yeah, my favorite amp companies have always been Fender and Vox... with Orange and Marshall close behind... I like classic vibes/sounds/tones, always have and always will lol

Plus the only solid states I've ever known/played are my Fender and Line 6 (which was a good starter amp at 15W)... I've played through a few of my friend's Marshall's but never knew if they were solid state or tube

"Back in the day" there was a store in Sacramento called The Vox Room on Marconi near Bell that carried all those lines. I think they also stocked Plush and Sunn as well. Those were the days......

I know not of those days since I joined the world in 1988, all I know is Guitar Center, Sam Ash and Skips Music (which is a Nor Cal thing)

Hell, didn't pick up a bass until I was 14 and a guitar until I was 16 lol

There's another shop in Citrus Heights called Northridge Music, near the corner of Greenback Lane and Sunrise. They sell Fender and Mesa-Boogie among others. Years before, the store was known as Sunrise Music and Jeff Watson of Night Ranger used to work there.

randall and musicman had some nice SS stuff. a Gibson LAB series L5 2-12. it's the BB King amp.
even the 1964 vox satellite is a SS amp worthy of playing, if you can find one.

I don't get out to Citrus Heights much.... tend to stick around South Sac/Elk Grove and/or Arden/Arden-Arcade areas

Hollywood makes it easy on folks though with Guitar Center, Sam Ash, Carvin and Mesa all on the same block lol
