They're called Walking Spanish, from El Dorado Hills but they say they're from Sacramento....

Also if you've ever heard of Jackie Greene (another local artist who has a decent following if you're into Americana/country rock-ish type stuff), it's his younger brother's band

Both of them are awesome guitarists

Not bad really diggin' their sound....

In fact it's funny/ironic because I used "indie with a blues influence" just yesterday to describe some of the stuff I play in a job interview just yesterday with the music retailer it seems everyone here hates the most lol

It's not like the Frontman series are high end (or even mid level) amps. They're entry level beater amps that you buy for your kid (that's why they're inexpensive). Yes as a consumer you should have the reasonable expectation that they would last for awhile, but heck you get what you pay for.

After the second one blew out with the same problem I would have changed amps.

FWIW, this is why I love point to point or turretboard construction as opposed to circuit boards. Circuit boards are the cost effective way to do it, but nothing beats the ruggedness of a good turretboard, as well as the ease with which you can swap out components and test connections.

They are inexpensive, but here's the thing -- unless they are giving these amps away free with the purchase of a new guitar, the customer has a reasonable expectation that they shouldn't be required to return it multiple times to have a fully functioning amplifier. And to make somebody drive 45 minutes each time they need service is abominable.

I've had the frontman amp, and it served my well as a practice amp -- in fact I sold mine after using it for several years, and not once did it require service. Meaning Fender has the ability to provide this amp in a durable fully operational package.

I agree if you plan to take an amp into the clubs, the Frontman will not hold up for the long haul, but that should have less to do with the electrical configuration than the overall workmanship standard. If you want a road amp to can trust for years, you need to spend a few extra bucks.

In this case it might be fair for Fender to give you credit toward a better amp, since this one has gone back and forth for service for the same problem and quite clearly is not performing as advertised.
