I know you're kidding but I actually did have a purely-for-fun 'joke' band here at the big F with that very name extremely briefly. It wasn't my idea but it kind of stuck and next thing I knew one of the graphic designers out here had even drawn up a crazy psychedelic logo which I still have floating around here somewhere.

I think I speak for everyone here when I say we demand to see that logo. 8)

Next time I want a band name... I know where to ask... There have been at least 10 that are really solid names...

I have a feeling Brad will go with something outside the forum however...

I was actually just perusing this thread again and thinking the exact same thing -- wow, guys, there's actually some really great stuff here! It's really helped me get the creative juices flowing on this end. If anyone has any more keep 'em coming!

Any creative process is in better shape without the help of restrictions, filters and censorship. Of course, doing it on the net can bring its share of surprizes, but by working on association and comparison, true inspiration can kick in, sometimes in an unexpected way. :)

I feel your pain, it took weeks for my two active bands to come to terms with our names recently, settling on No More Heroes for the powerpunk band and Refinance My Soul for the more bluesy group.

Some names we threw out:

Reccomend Fire
Class Bravo
The BDS
In Livid Colour
The Last Voyage of Theseus
The American Virgin
Old Thieves
Emplate
Third Substitution

It's tucked away in a moving box from my last move right now but I'll have to dig it out at some point. :-)

CajunBlues, I wanted to reach out to you regarding “Primer Grey Cafe”. This one really caught my eye as a potential contender and I’m curious to the story behind it and/or if it’s something you simply threw out there. A local reference, perhaps? Pondering including this one (or a slight variant of it) in the list of suggestions that I present to my other members next week!

Brad:

It came to me -- your band is a blend of hillbilly and alternative... primer grey for the hillbilly and cafe for the alternative.... The fact that it rhymes is a plus...
