He might be limping, but should be a good show.

:D Saw Bon Jovi in New Jersey last Friday (sorry, never got to post a review). Wow. I saw them once in the 80's, and they were good. I saw them in the 90's, and they were very good. Last week, absolutely fantastic. Great show, great songs, great musicianship. (Nice assortment of guitars as well.)
It's funny, because most bands start out at their peak and sort of lose it over the years in terms of the quality of their music. Bon Jovi have actually gotten better with time, in terms of both songwriting and performing. They have evolved into a world-class rock band, and I say this based on seeing the live show and on checking out the last few CDs in the past week. No kidding, any band out there would be proud to put on a concert as good as Bon Jovi.

AMAZING!!! Kid Rock is probably my new favourite musician, he was incredible! He almost missed the show because of customs though, the police escorted him to the stadium so he could be on time. Bon Jovi was amazing as well, they put on quite a show! Man, those guys can really play! I'm still perplexed by what kind of guitar the guitarist plays, I can't think of anything else like it, but I really do want one. The opening band was surprisingly good as well, they were called Malibu Knights I believe, not 100% sure though. All around great show!

The guitar you are almost definately referring to is Richie Sambora's Custom guitar built for him by his guitar tech Chris Hofschneider of Times Square Guitars.

The guitar was actually designed by him and Richie and has just the word 'Sambora' on the headstock.

ESP build a replica of this guitar, although it is more of a low end instrument built in China I think!

I too am a huge Bon Jovi fan, saw them twice within one week this tour actually at the O2 Arena in London. Excellent show as always!

I saw them last night in Toronto. Excellent show from John and guys them managed to cram good 20000+ people (rough visual estimate = 29000 is seating capacity for concerts). I was actually surprised by Kid Rock, and his own awesome showmanship.

The show in Toronto had 95% women in audience. So make the girls dance and shake some booty and that folks is how you make it in the music business.

BTW: Richie played an awesome light blue strat with rosewood board on the "Bed of Roses". I got to ask Mike Eldred if that is a CS strat or some vintage 60's model

That seems like the one I was talking about. Picture does not show a headstock which was very dark and that led me to believe is the actual vintage strat. With the current aging CS technology you never now.

Mike, when I clicked the link for the item number this message showed up

This listing (180416686465) has been removed, or this item is not available.

hmmm maybe Richie changed his mind...

Anyhow he played three different strats, i think, and tone from this one just melted my soul.

Thanks for the info (sorry for stealing the thread)

Well, I decided to go and glad I did. Gillette Stadium was a sellout and the first band started about 7pm, while we were tailgating in the lot across the street.

We were entering the arena as Kid Rock & his Detroit Band took the stage and what a great sound they had. They did a good variety of music from rock to country to metal to christian to his solo piano piece where he sipped on some "Jim Beam" during and after. Great horns and backup singers and his performing was top shelf as he roamed around the audience. His talking to the crowd was heartfelt...he thanked everyone who spent their hard earned money to see the show and promised that his band was the real thing and no lip sync, boy-girl band, BS!

He did all of his known hits along with some great sounding covers such as "Everyday People" and "Cat Scratch Fever", three guitar players were all in sync and sounded great!

Bon Jovi came on and did a stellar job with working the audience and had all of the girls screaming with their solid performance. Sambora used at least 20 different guitars including 3 different Strats, 2 different Teles, his doubleneck Fender, Esquires, SGs, 335s, LPs, and many more acoustics.

The band played two hours then said goodnight only to be brought back for another 40 minute encore including Kid Rock and his band joining them for Bob (Detroit) Seger's "Old Time Rock n Roll', then Bon Jovi finished with "Always", some newer material and finally "Living On A Prayer" that went on for almost 15 minutes with great solos by each band member.

I've got some pics (I think?) that I'll be looking at and uploading a few later or in the next few days.

I was most impressed with Kid Rock as a performer and Richie Sambora's guitar collection. 8)
