I heard on Sirius yesterday that on August 13 Jimi Hendrix is being inducted into the Fender Hall Of Fame. The ceremony will take place in Tempe, AZ. Kenny Wayne Shepherd will be performing, Chris Layton will be his drummer for this event.

I just hope that is going to be an "indoor" induction... Funny, I would have assumed Jimi would be in that hall of fame from the start...

It's great that Jimi and George are being honored for their contribution to Fender-George for his musical and technical input and Jimi for bringing the Strat front and center in the rock world. It has been often that during his all to short life he was responsible for selling more Strats than all of Fender's PR men and ad campaigns combined. It didn't take Janie hendrix too long to show up on Fender's doorstep after the Hendrix/Gibson/Strat fiasco. I wonder if having her there is more of a "necessary evil"as she now has her claws into everything remotely related to Jimi.

I would have thought Jimi was already in the Fender Hall of Fame. Does any one know if this will be televised? It should be an interesting night.

yeah you would think jimi was already in there. thing is, they gotta space it out if they are gonna make this a annual thing, if not, the big bang will run out rather quickly.

Hendrix should have been there along with Leo Fender. He did more to promote Strats than any other player. Jim Marshall made no bones about JMH being the greatest ambassador for Marshall Amps.

I'd like to see Randy California in there as well.
