My wife and I decided to quit smoking(for about the 20th time)but this time as an incentive we are buying a 4WD truck. The amount we spend on cigarettes every month would more than cover the payments if we quit. We've been kicking around the idea of getting a 4WD truck for a few years as we live over a mile from the main road at the end of a 400 ft. unpaved lane that's treacherous in winter.Where we do a lot of gardening and usually have to depend on friends to pick up anything large or messy a truck is becoming a necessity.Anyway I hope that this time we can give up the dirty things for good,I have my Champix picked up already but I'm not starting until my wife picks up hers so we can encourage each other.

be careful. the guy next door was suddenly found dead at home. they checked him over and found he was wearing the patch. friend said he had been out with them the night before. when they dropped him off he asked one for a cig "for the road". well he over dosed and his heart gave out. cause of death, to much nicotine in his system.
friends said he had not been smoking that evening either.
make sure you buy a toyota. :D

I say go with a ford! My dad and i both drive ford, they are great trucks.
Diesel trucks are really good also, they last a long time. you can take a diesel truck up to a million miles and not have any problems as long as you take care of it.

ford does make a nice truck i agree, but i wouldnt dare tell anyone they could put a million miles on one.

maybe i was pushing it with the million miles thing, but diesel engines can have alot more miles put on them and still run better than a normal engine.

now i say all of this knowing that my fav truck is
the ford F250 turbo diesel lol. i have had offers to trade in my
83 chevy short bed for unbelievable down payments, but i wont do it.
everybody wants my 83. 400K plus on its motor. mint otherwise.
its time for a new motor for it.

Thanks for all the encouragement guys. We're kind limited to the type of truck we get as my wife doesn't think she could maneuver a big truck- even though my sister has no problem with their GMC Canyon crew cab- so since even the mid-size Canyon seems too large it looks like we'll be getting a Ford Ranger extended cab.Two of my brothers in law have Rangers and haven't had any problems and love the gas mileage.BTW the local Ford dealer sells more Rangers than any other dealer in North America and that's with a less than 250,000 population within a 50 mile radius.I'd prefer a Chevy Silverado extended cab 4X4 if I had my way but I'd probably end up chauffeuring around the Missus if that was the case lol.BTW since relicing is so popular do you think that I should get my truck reliced when I get it?

I don't care what anyone says, the best way to quit is cold turkey...period.

I did it. The bottom line is the first two weeks are the hardest, after that you are done.
