Hello,

Does anyone known when Fender started to use the Circled R on their guitar picks. I have a lot of picks, some vintage, with the script different than newer picks, or the script color different, or the uncircled R and I am trying to date them.

Thanks for any help.

I don't know but there's a picture of Buddy Holly playing a '58 Strat with a pick stuck under the guard below the pickup switch....I looked at it with a magnifying glass and it said "Fender", being a b/w pic I couldn't tell what color the pick was,but it was dark, probably tortoise.
The reason I was looking at it that close was when they restored Buddy's last Strat, the guy found a Gibson white pick under the pickguard.
I didn't know when Fender and Gibson started labeling picks.

I have never considered dating a pick. Dinner conversation and well conversation in general would tend to be one sided.
