I'am a peaceful man, but in defence of my family I could easily pull 4 to6 psi's with one finger, have and would again, worked out a few times with a friend called louisvill, he was a real slugger, and best of all if someone is about to attack I just ask the wife one simple question, hey hun how do you spell ? and that sets of a wall of stone unpenatrable by all oposeing forces, boxed a bit to but far to old fur that stuff now.

Indeed it was hilarious, Andy! :) And I fully support the use of firearms in that sense, even in the private seclusion of one's garden.

I trained Krav Maga for 3 years and then joined the Army and learned their close quarters combat techniques (mostly juijitsu based). As well as even more advanced close quarters combat training during BiF training before deployment as I pulled prison guard duties in Iraq 1 of every 3 weeks.

+1

+2...But I trained, as a young serviceman, at Ft. Knox. Qualified 38 of 40 on the M16. Then later at Ft. Riley, KS 10 of 11 on the M249 SAW. Also a couple dozen gunneries firing the real guns...M1A1 Abrams. Nowadays a pistol does just fine as an added layer of home security.

Ah, '74 was a good year for Hai Karate. Not as good as a '59 Dom Perignon, but good nonetheless.

I hit my older brother in the...um, er...below the belt with a baseball bat once. My father told me not to do that ever again, and I promised I wouldn't.

The next time I hit him in the knee. My father took the bat away from me.

Both times, he had been warned. Even little brothers have their limits.

A friend of mine, who teaches high school math in NYC, is a most unassuming individual. Short, slight of build, balding, family man, a kind of skinny Homer Simpson. Helluva nice guy. Some poor fool, looking for trouble on the NYC subway would, make the mistake of considering him an easy mark. He's been in the martial arts some thirty years now and has just been raised to 6th dan in his discipline. One of the things the arts teaches you is humility and respect. Something I've addressed previously herein.

You never know..............

Well, I'm pretty sure everyone in this thread could kick my butt!!!!!

Never done any martial arts or proper training but I was a doorman for a while, with mixed results.......

Also I found when I was gigging as a drummer there was a couple of times drum sticks came in handy.....

To be honest though I have always been the one who made sure I could run faster than anyone else so I'm a runner not a fighter..baboom
