I made the mistake of watching a ton of Brent Mason videos on you tube last night. Made me want to use my guitar for firewood and bow to his holyness.

I'm trying to learn "I Still Got the Blues For You" by Gary Moore. He's a master of tone and soul, but you hardly hear about him anymore. The live version of this song, also on you tube, is my favorite clip.

My first practice with the new band is Thursday. I'm trying to learn at least 40 new songs, and make it seem effortless. I want to make a good impression so they'll be sure they made the right choice. Some top 40 country, Matchbox 20, Delbert McClinton, old Hootie songs, stuff along that vein. Not hard songs, just a lot of them. My first gig with them is the 30th this month, so I'm crammin'. The band itself is great. The piano player used to tour with Tracy Byrd, the guys daughter plays a mean 6 string bass, his brother plays guitar and is the front man/singer, and a dynamite drummer. They all sing, so there's great harmony on the tunes. We'll see if I can keep up.

Dang, :D I thought you were posting a video of you and those guys on stage burnin' it up.
I know what you mean, when I hear somebody really great it makes me feel very humble....guys like Jack Pearson and Sonny Landreth come to mind....Pearson is a local virtuoso, and is well known throughout music circles....check him out on the web if you don't know him...I think you'll like him.
