Sweet! I have a Barnes & Noble gift card from Christmas, I'll check if they have it.

Not the most number of guitars, but the most of basically the same guitar is 36. The brother of a friend has 36 (thirty-six) of the US-made 1957 Reissue Stratocasters, all of the colors at least twice (and about ten of them are black). He bought most of them new, and has left them all dead stock--no pickup replacement or anything...and he hasn't even played several of them. He also owns at least two Fender Custom Shop guitars, both based on a '57 Strat.

He also owns at least a dozen (maybe more) of the old Music Man Sabre II guitars--some with the active electronics and some without--in all the colors that they came in (I think they only came in natural, black and sunburst, but I may be wrong).

Besides these, he owns several other models, mostly Fenders, G&Ls and vintage Music Man guitars...

...but he's not that great of a player, I would rate him as a three out of ten, and he's very hard to deal with (moody and sensitive about his ability), and gets very irritated if someone plays better or louder than him (and he plays LOUD). I can out-play him and I'm not that great.

I have a buddy that has about 70 guitars of many makes and vintages as well as 2 or 3 dozen amps and hundreds of stomp boxes.Another buddy of mine,Lew has about 40 lefty guitars and since he's a good friend of Scotty Moore, some years ago Scotty made a special request to Gibson(then in Kalamazoo)to make Lew a lefty version of his big bodied Gibson and he still has it.There was a guy in Ontario Canada who had a guitar collection for sale last year for $13 million and it represented just about every Gibson and Fender solid body electric made and every year of each including Strats,Les Pauls,Firebirds etc. I saw a photo of the collection obviously in a warehouse and it was immense I believe it contained over 120 guitars. My little collection of 30 seems diminutive next to these guys. There are some Japanese collectors that have collections numbering in the hundreds and sadly a lot of them are non players just speculators buying them up as investments.
