+1, thanks for posting Mike, perfect example.
I have played many Fender guitars since 1963 although that is not as many as some here at the Forum have played I work in a couple of shops here in town and so far so good in identifying cheap imitations but in relation to the above story, some of the photos look edited and the operation is anything but cheap, looks could fool just about anybody.

That may or may not be true, but Fenders are more readily open to being copied that say Gibsons (and there are TONS of Gibson fakes too) because of the way they are made with bolt on necks and easily obtained interchangable parts.

I don't think all this factory relicing has helped either as it makes available a lot of old looking guitars ready to be modified and sold as real vintage guitars by fakers.

Thank you litenin' I was just kidding way cool jr about spotting fake Fender guitars, I've been lucky in that I haven't come across any since 1963 the year I played my 1st Fender solid body electric guitar, cheers Bro.
