you never hear folks talking about their pic choice.
for such a small device it sure can make a big difference
in your playing and attack. i use Dunlop nylon 1mm and orange tortex
pics. can i tell the difference between the two/ you bet.
i can listen to a recording of myself and tell which one im using.
so what are you folks using?

I use Fender Medium premium celluloid picks. Although the Jim Dunlops are nice too.

It depends on what I'm playing. My favorite are the Dunlop Tortex .73 mm. The yellow ones. But for acoustic strumming I like the orange ones, and I also like the green ones which are slightly heavier than the yellow ones.

I like Fender mediums too, I've been using them since I first started. And I won a bag of over a hundred Ernie Ball Heavies, so I use those when I'm really digging in on lead work.

I've also gotten into those tiny jazz picks. They're nice for fast runs.

i like the dunlops because i can get a better grip on them.
the attack, to me, is better with them.
i use to use the tortex more so but times have changed.
the pick is a very important piece of equipment in my opinion.
zz top uses a $5 peso when they play. both of them do.
crazy huh? i saw where a thin pic above was mentioned. i cant do it.
i just dont feel like i have control when i use thin pics.

I have used Dunlop 73mm grey nylon picks as long as I can remember on electrics and the 80mm on acoustic.I find that they're easy to hold on to no matter how much your hands perspire.

Doesn't make much difference to me. Usually heavy's are fine. I like my fingers better. I've also used coins.

You get warmer, nicer tone from the fingers  I learned that playing bass, but it still applies.

Bread bag clips work pretty alright, though.

alot of your tapping kings use jazz picks . they tuck into the pulm easier allowing more finger movement.
i just cant use them. big hands, they get lost in there lol.

I use all kinds and all thickness. I have a couple of stainless steel picks and it sounds really cool through an overdriven amp, but it takes some getting used to using something that thick though. When I practice at night without my amp, I use thin jim dunlops or cf martin thins so I am extra quiet while the rest of the house sleeps.
