this guy not only rocked, but he was a great showman as well.
plus, he shows just how fun the blues really is to play.
watch his face, you can tell right away hes having a ball.
so heres the video, enjoy.

I was demoing a guitar for a boy and his Dad the other day at work. I was playing a slow blues in E. The Father told his son, "Listen to that, that's the blues. You hear how it sounds so sad?". So I broke into Hideaway. Listen to how sad that sounds.

What was that filmed at an amp convention? look at the audience they're sitting right in the middle of a bunch of amps...and not cheap ones either.

Now I'm confused did Billy Gibbons get that lick from Freddy or did Freddy get it from Billy?

On a side note add a rudder and a fuselage and that shirt collar could fly.

I'd guess that Billy got it from Freddy.

Yep, and I bet Freddie got the idea for it from someone else. It kind of sounds like it originated in the acoustic world, something like Lightnin' Hopkins.

He's tried.

In his defense, his bends and vibrato sound pretty good. He just needs to learn to chill out and use some dynamics.

John Lee Hooker's riff best performed by Canned Heat but all of the Bluesmen play a version. As John Lee Hooker would sing "Boogie Chillen"!

in all seriousness, freddie gave us 19 albums in his short life,
42 yrs i believe it was. 5 of those were live albums.
thats pretty good if you ask me.
the more i listen to this guy the more im amazed. not only did he show us that blues was fun to play, its also fun to listen to even if your not a player.
a lot of his stuff is a blues/boogie style.
