Well, I hope he does something about the outlandish australasian prices and the massive markups down here imposed by distributers locally.

Something new, a logo or something. Keep fender on the traditional evolutional path and change things out- the shape of the neck, or the logo or throw in some new colours that aren't as bland as curtains.

Change is good for a company. It gives a shake up that is sometimes needed.

B ;)

What say you, Brad? :?:

I wouldn't start a relationship with a new CEO by commenting on him via a message board...but that's just me.

+1 stratoBobster, no one from Fender should comment on the change, here there or anywhere, for us at the Forum we hope that the new CEO is very, very, happy here.

Mike Eldred already did. He said "Yep! He's a great addition to our team, and he's been on the board for a while."

That's good enough for me.

To be honest I am not to thrilled about this move at all.63supro and RR at least kept things real.Lets see what store are there more horror stories posted on each week than GC. First let me say adios to Bill Mendello who if one thing raised the quality on Fenders to as good as I have ever seen them, on the other hand there has been nothing to really get excited about in ages. It was either the same old tweak to a Strat or Tele and hate them or love them the infamous relic.

Now we have an ex employee of GC who worked his way to CEO and is now the CEO here. But before I cast stones maybe he was one of the good guys there on the other hand maybe not so its 50-50 and only time will tell. Miami you said Mike Eldred who in my opinion I wish would have gotten the job said he is great, well do we think Mike is going to say my boss is a nightmare and clueless.lol

Well lets hope Larry here steps out from behind the curtain and is a hands on type of guy as I had to ask last year who is running the company, as I did not have a clue. And has some innovative ideas, and maybe produces some new and exciting things as it has been pretty vanilla outside of the CS for a long time. Well LT I am hoping you deliver the goods.

He's been on the board for about a year already.

Well MM if he has been on the board a year already that is not a good sign. Lets see what has happened in the last year that was big new-Oh the price hike, of which I really had no problem with it is just that I still do not know what are the true prices as GC and MF has had a never ending sale since it happened. One week a Clapton artist series is $1,600 the next $2,200 and last I saw $1,599. I mean Cmon get real and just leave the prices alone and let them settle and then have a sale. There has to be a thousand guys who bought a guitar for $2,200 only to see it selling a month later for $1,600 and that would really burn my a##, as I would feel I was just robbed.

Well Miami Mike is right that he has been on the board a year already. Should we give him credit for holding down the prices on the price hike? Does anyone think that Bills goodbye gift was the price hike.lol Well one way or another someone seems bent on keeping the prices down so far as there has been way to many sales and artist series prices have come down as you can finf a Clapton all over for $1,599 and a Dave Murray and others for $1,750 not to mention other series. So either there was a big drop in sales after the hike or Larry and the others brought them down. So for now we cant give him a fair evaluation, lets see how things are in a year.
