what a fantastic show... i'm very tired having been up late with new baby the past two weeks and a few beers at the show but those of you who might be going to see them in the future on this tour, it was a real treat.

They delivered beautifully.

the two comical encounters that stuck out for me were:

1) the 14 year old metal geek behind me on line to pee after Dream Theater. He asked what i thought and i responded "They were real good" "Oh I see, you're more of a Maiden fan aren't you, well, I was psyched that they played songs from... " says the young lad. "well i only recognized 'Pull Me Under'" says I. To which he responded "well that's because that was their big MTV hit" WHAT??? did a kid more than half my age just accuse me of only knowing the MTV hit? uhhhh not that i care all that much my young pimply faced friend, but while that song was popular, your mom was lifting your chicken wing legs and wiping poopy off your tushy and i was searching for meaning in the seattle sound that was engulfing the nation.

2)The quintessential Fan that knows way more about the band than you do and was seated to the left of me that had to quiz me periodically, even going as far as to reveal the songs they'd be playing for the encore because he saw the show the night before. Go eff yourself wherever you are... you left anyway before the encore so what was your point.

aside from that... a truly magnificent show.

Dave Murray played the classic black strat that he purchased from Paul Kossoff many years ago... gotta get me that Dave Murray sig model but does than mean its in some in direct way a Paul Kossoff artist series from Fender... hmmm

great show... i'm going to bed.

see you all in the a.m.

I saw them last month in San Bernardino...they were amazing to say the least. First time I saw them was when they opened for Rainbow and Scorpions on The Number of the Beast tour. I've seen every tour since (except the Blayze Bayley stuff, didn't care for his voice). They played a couple new songs when I saw them and it was just amazing.

The last time I saw Dream Theater, they opened for Yes and they did not play either "Pull Me Under" or "Take The Time". I used to be a pretty
big DT fan back in the '90s, so I know a bit of their catalog. It still pisses me off they did not play either one. Yes was great, though ...

Look at it from their point of view though; sure it was a huge hit and put them on the map, but at the same time they have to be tired of playing it. Consider Deep Purple having to play Smoke on the Water or Black Sabbath having to play Paranoid (a song which didn't almost make the cut in the first place).

I'm a fan of all of those groups, but its at the point where if its one of those rare times I should listen to the radio and any of those songs come on, I change the channel. I rather would have heard Fatal Tragedy or Dance of Eternity from Scenes from a Memory or The Mirror or Scarred from Awake instead of Pull Me Under.

Glad you enjoyed the show. I loved the whole show, I just enjoyed Maiden more. I wish they would come my way again soon. I would definitely see them again.

Enjoyed Maiden "more" than Dream Theater?? I like DT alot, but I am sure that is a huge understatement ... like telling
someone who is about to be hit with a tidal wave that "you will soon be experiencing moisture" ...
