Getting very psyched for the show. Going with a coworker who has never seen them before so looking forward to him being Maidened, he's in for a real treat.

It is pretty cool how Maiden travels. Until their documentary, I never realized how different Maiden was from a touring perspective than every other band ever. While many bands own aircraft, only Maiden uses it to carry all their gear and crew. Because of that, they can essentially go wherever they want ... and they do go to many odd places. Pretty cool. Oh, and yes, they kill as a live act.

I've seen Iron Maiden a million times. First time was when they were promoting "The Number of The Beast" album. They have never let me down. Their shows are always awesome. I remember some guy at a party was giving my friend and I some crap for going to the Maiden concert where Anthrax was opening promoting "Persistance of Time" album, and we invited him. We had an extra ticket front and center at Compton Terrace-Tempe, AZ. Needless to say that guy went home a newly recruited fan after the show. Iron Maiden RULES!!!!

-Long Live Eddie!!!!
-Long live Bruce Dickenson-vocals
Dave Murray-guitar
Adrian Smith-guitar
Steve Harris-bass
Nicko McBrain-drums

kevin, your showing us your age bro lol. that beast album was a looong time ago, but i think the single most important album for maiden.
that album showed the world that they were here to stay and a force to be delt with. by this time in their history the boys proved that they can do hit album after album and sale out when and whereever they wanted.
they toured for like 12 yrs straight i read in a dickenson interview a long time ago, coming home for like twice a year for a weekend or so.
their kids grew up w/o them. they were forced to take a break.
there were several times they almost said screw it.
they stood the test of time i think. go maiden.

Yeah man, I'm forty years old. But I still listen to Maiden, and play a whole bunch of their songs on guitar. I learned a lot from ther songs. I still love 'em. I mean just listen to the intro and main riff on "Aces High" off of "Powerslave" I'ts pretty increadible that they even wrote that. And for all you bass players out there, ya'll should be idolizing Steve Harris. Play his riffs without a pick like he does, and tell me your hands don't get stiff and sore. He is simply an amazing bass player. I'll say it again. Iron Maiden RULES!!!!!

I saw a cool bumper sticker the other day. It read: I may be old, but I've seen all of the good bands. I happen to agree with this.

amen. this guy is the most underated bass player ever.
hes very tight and can be very complicated. his tone is amazing.
they say the stadium rumbles when he really gets going.
i knew a guy that thought steve was god. his personal bass rig was almost exactly like steves. the dude could play like crazy. he lived and breathed steve harris. when he would crack up his rig, man you would move across the floor w/o ever moving your feet lol. you would vibrate in any direction.

I was suppose to go to that show in Tampa FL but Bruce got Laryngitis and the show had to be scrubbed

You guys should fully Check out this DVD

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JuULb5EMXMA

An incredible Documentary of an incredible band with an incredible history. Steve Harris focus will make you love him all over. And if you weren't that into them, have a newfound respect for them and any hardworking Rock Band that focused on the music and fans rather than the image and the partying. To quote Nicko, "Its his dream, we're all just living it with him" Netflix has it but make sure you get disc 2 the documentary. The other disc is concert footage. The doc is made by them so you don't have a cheese voice over or lame graphics.

UP THE IRONS!!! Three days to go...

I saw them only once in 1985, and they were just amazing. I did see the movie Flight 666 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Even at 50 years old, I still enjoy listening to them and would love to see them again!

Its pretty amazing to see 6 blokes pushing 60 that still got it. Bruce still runs from one and to the stage to the other at full throttle jumping off the cat walk like a 14 year old. They ENTERTAIN, and the entire arena singing along in unison is just plain cool.
