Ok a few people have posted their guitar rig on here for at home. For those of you that record, what do you use as a set up for home recording?

Mine is just My laptop with Ableton and Pod Farm on it, a Line 6 Ux2 and depending on the reording depends on the guitar. But I usually use either my J5 Tele, Jim Root Tele, Strat or Les Paul Jnr.

Your turn?

For me, it's simplicity. Mic straight from the computer.

I use a BR-864 stand alone digital recorder and for software, Ableton Live 8, Audacity and assorted vst plug-ins.

Acoustica Beatcraft and Beta Monkey Drums for drum sequencing and several mics (AT2020, SM58, Blue snowball) along with tascam mixer and interface.

Fender Chroma Polaris synth and Akai Midi Controller. Electric & acoustic guitars, percussion, Korg PX5D, Rockit monitors and Senn HD-280s.

Guitar > Boss GT6 then SPDIF to Digidesign 001. Running Protools 6 as that is the lates version supported on 001 but it does the job. If i need newer software i can just open session up at work in one of the bigger rooms.

i'm not even kidding here, this is my recording set up same as my jam set up but i'm using my raven rg20(great little amp) as a mic stand and acoustic amp. the mic in question is I kid you not a guitar hero mic that i have plugged into my computer going into a free recording software known as audacity. My basic set-up is:

Guitar > Lexicon Lambda > HP Pavilion > ACID Pro 7.

I have a bunch of plug-ins, soft synths, a Line6 PodXT and a couple of digital amps with Line Out jacks that I'll hook up sometimes. Also, I use Sound Forge and Izotope Ozone to make things sound better, but I'm still learning how to use some of this stuff. I could use a new preamp.

I have a Line6 spiderjam which has recording functions. It also has RCA output jacks that I plug directly into my soundcard with a stereo RCA to 1/8 jack cable. On the computer I use Audacity. I would like to get a mic to record my 12 string acoustic.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
