Ok, here goes;

I'm a car painter, and today I was doing what is known as a SMART repair (which is basically a repair to a small area of paintwork) to half of a rear bumper.

The bumper was removed from the car and repaired due to having been in a minor collision and was ready for paint. The weather looked fine and so I was painting it in the open air as SMART repairs often are.

Just after applying the clear coat, huge spots of rain started falling with no warning what so ever, pretty much ruining the entire job. I quickly carried the bumper and the stand which I was painting it on under cover in case there was any chance of salvaging the work. At which point the bumper and its fresh wet paint fell from its stand and landed face down in the grit and straight across an air line which all embedded itself into the new paint. In frustration, I then decided it to be good idea to kick the whole thing across the floor, which in hindsight, didn't help too much!

The bumper is now in a worse state than when I woke up this morning, I've ran out of paint so I will need some more of that, the rest of the clear coat dried in my spray gun whilst I was kicking the bumper around, making it extremely difficult to clean, oh, and the customer thinks his car will be ready for tomorrow!

I think I might go and lie in the road now!

Anyone beat that, or do I get the prize?

Russ :(

I think I can beat your sh&t day! Back in August 2000 before I got into Nursing, I was working for a local manufacturer, where I was a 2nd shift supervisor in their cutting dept. On top of my office were stacked several bales of material which we used to cut, and these bales weighed anywhere from 1,000 lbs on up. One night, one of my guys was getting a bale from the office when I was coming out and the next thing you know, the bale fell from the forklift, hit me and knocked me on the back of my head onto a solid concrete floor. To this day, I don't remember the accident, this is according to what I was told afterwards. as a result, I ended up losing my sense of smell, have migraines on a daily basis, and occasional mood swings along with short term memory loss. Because of this, I now only work on a part time basis but my wife wants me to apply for disability which I am seriously now considering. I already took my former employer to court and won a out of court settlement, over a year ago. So no offense, but I think I got you beat by a country mile pal!

Ok, I never intended to annoy anyone, thought my misfortune might make some of you laugh to be honest!

Sorry to hear about your accident!

Russ

Sympathies; days like that suck. You end up further behind and in the hole from where you started.

Be glad you are not wearing boots in Afghanistan and toting an M-16.

Peace, Bro.

Wow, that is one bad day. We all have them. Get some rest and prepare to fix the problem tomorrw. Remember behind every cloud is a silver lining.
