Just for the sake of record, I thought I'd make sure that this thread created by me was kept active.

And yes, I still own and treasure this guitar. And as far as I know, and I've looked over the past two decades, this is THE ONLY VERIFIED, CERTIFIED and GENUINE Fender Eric Clapton Model with his autograph that's ever been owned by one person, me, and not gone thru 'other hands'.

Wow! You, the guitar, and the autograph haven't changed over the years, Dennis.
That's cool.

For a month I had a similar 2011 second hand grey coloured Strat that I bought because of the great deal. It had a rosewood neck. After a few weeks I grew to dislike the colour combination. Rosewood can look good on other axes; but, a maple neck is a much better choice on that body IMHO.
Cheers!

This guitar has been sold(11/6/2017), via Reverb Dot Com, to a collector in Tampa, Florida.

You may ask, why?...Well since I'll be turning 68 next year my financial status, being retired and on a fixed income, is more important that the sentimental value of this guitar. So, regretfully, it had to find a new home.

Oh well, it cost you nothing, you got to hang with it for a good long while, now hopefully the financial gain will bring you as much joy.

Hey there, Dennis. I agree with mud. You’re ahead of the game. Many of us here would love to have spent time with your Clapton Strat. But, all the same, parting is such sweet sorrow.

Retirement of any kind can be a big change. However you do it, it’s meant to be enjoyed, and I wish that for you. So on that, congratulations, and welcome to the club.
