While struggling with my multi finger picking I could not help but wonder how some of us struggle, and for some is comes so easy; or at least looks that way. I automatically thought of Chet Atkins who always made it look effortless.. Hard to believe on June 30th it will have been 9 years since we lost him. Every time I ever heard that guy play it sounded like 3 guitars coming from just one guy all at the same time. Now after 20 something years of playing myself and I still wonder… How the He!! He could play like that.. You may not have liked the type of music or the Genre he played under but there is no denying he was probably born with a guitar in his hands and boy could that guy pick…. Thinking about it caused me to stroll down Youtube memory lane for some tribute this close to the anniversary of his death and I thought I would share a few memorable tunes.. Enjoy!!!

Chet was one of the really fine players. I have several albums of his, but especially like "Chet Picks on the Beatles".

Check out some of Merle Travis' stuff too...cool technique!

Quite so! I'd love to be able to do a tenth of what Chet made look simple. One of the all time greats, beyond doubt.

Cheers - C
