I just finished listening to a 4 CD set from Rhino called Nuggets Original Artyfacts(sic)From The First Psychedelic Era 1965-1968 and it's a treasure trove of 60s relics. There are 118 cuts by well known groups such as The Blues Magoos,The Knickerbockers,The Amboy Dukes(Ted Nugent) and Paul Revere and the Raiders and little known groups such as The Chocolate Watchband,The Cryan' Shames,The 13th Floor Elevators etc. There's even a song by The Golliwogs-commonly known as CCR.Anybody interested in psychedelic music and the precursor of the punk movement will love this set.I really enjoyed listening to songs like I Had To Much To Dream Last Night by The Electric Prunes,Sit Down I Think I Love You by the Mojo Men and Psychotic Reaction by Count Five.I'm sure that old timers like me will recognize many of the songs not knowing who recorded them but there's a lot of familiar stuff on it.It comes with a 100 page booklet that gives bios of all the groups and how a lot of the members went on to become famous with other groups,an interesting read in itself. I also picked up Sugar &Spice-A Collection by The Cryan' Shames they had great harmonies.Anyway the 4 CD set was $55 and The Cryan' Shames was only $6 from CD Universe.I fully recommend this set to any 60s alternative fans.

Rhino catalogs some great tuneage, much of it rare and/or obscure. I have the single-disc "Nuggets" CD which seems to be distilled version of the four-disc set. The original "Hey Joe", Frijid Pink's version of "House Of The Rising Sun", plus Max Frost & The Troopers are worth the price of admission.

Rhino has one of the best music and video catalogs in existence.

Two of the hardest CD from albums to find have to be, Tin House (Tin House, Epic label), and Survival Of The Fittest (Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes, Polydor label).

If they are not included in Nuggets, search for The Chocolate Watchband!

Hi Gbass, you might try searching the CD Universe website www.cduniverse.com I've tried to stump them looking for obscure albums and movies and so far they've had everything that I've thrown at them.
