Hello i have been pondering this for years! WHY glue tone woods 2-3 pieces as opposed to cutting out a nonlaminated piece of solid wood?? Do you think this would effect the tone between the two methods? :?

The number of pieces of wood is not a predictor of resonance. Some one-piece bodies are dogs and some 5 piece bodies sing like a bird. Also, using more pieces of wood does not necessarily increase resonance: it does create a slab that is more stable than a single piece, but that's about it.

Making guitar bodies out of multiple pieces of wood has nothing to do with "tone." It's done for economy: just imagine how big an old growth tree you have to start with to rough mill down to a slab big enough to cut an entire one-piece Stratocaster from, and the reason is obvious.

Indeed. It's just something o simple that so many people forget, most types of trees only grow to such a size! The amount of people on my course at uni who spec'd meter wide beams and columns of solid timber was scary.
