Wow,a trade like that is a once in a life time thing.I once traded a wah wah pedal,a set of headphones and $20 for a 66 Vox Phantom XII and I thought I was doing good but Randy's trade really has me beat.

we guesstimate it to be worth a great deal. the case is in good shape and there were even extra strings from the era as well as a pitch pipe.
(better known as case candy) so i found a bank that would house it for me.
its gonna cost a bit annually but thats ok.
i took the pic down as you saw for a reason lol.

yes but the type of screws used on the plate suggests 1950 according to george gruhn. w/o seeing it of course.
so i take it you liked the other pics as well huh? lol
the wiring is insane isnt it? ive had 100's of guitars apart and never seen
anything like that before. george says with case and candy it should bring more than you posted even in a downed economy.
in 2007 a 52 went for 35k at christys, but it didnt have a case or the candy to go with it. now you realize why its been vaulted up right?

in 1950 the guitar started out w/o tress rod. over several months
the guitar was recalled, from the very few that actually owned them.
the issue was a couple had some warped necks.
the word got out and very few moved from shelves after that.
leo quickly recalled the ones he could get in his hands and replaced the necks with the truss rod versions and sent them back to the customers that would have them, again very very few.
in aug of 1950 (i believe it was) the new shipment to stores went out with truss rods installed.

jeff beck played one for a long time, so did bruce springsteen.
both of which terribly altered their guitars to where 90% of their collectable value is gone, BUT, being who they are gave their guitars a different kind of collectable desire.

Thanks to that video I think I found one of the few people who loves Teles more than I do...... if I even saw an original Broadcaster and/or Nocaster I would die of heart attack kinda like I did when I saw a '62 ES-335 in Cherry red and a 60's 335 12 strings.... since the Tele and 335 are the only guitars that like REALLY matter to me lol

I think I need to take a trip to Hollywood now just so I can surround myself in vintage awesomeness lol

That's effing nuts. A Mosrite Mk I is worth a couple or more LPs, often sight unseen.

If a Strat is a hot Mustang and an LP a hopped up Camaro...

...a Mosrite Mk I ia a freaking Ferrari.

This ain't jive talking, either.

I'm not a huge Ferrari fan and I'd take a Camaro any day of the week lol

And I'd take a Les Paul over a Mosrite... not a huge fan of those guitars either
