I just uploaded my favorite tracks from the Fitzgerald's gig to my purevolume page. :)

It's not blues, and my solos aren't straight blues but the influence is very strong. I didn't have a solo in every song, but I did in all the ones I uploaded.
I play more reserved with this band than I do at most blues jams, and you can kind of tell I'm nervous. But considering how the songs sounded before (acoustic pop/rock with no leads) it's really amazing I got away with as much as I did.

Cold - Fairly standard as far as the band's sound goes. I originally didn't play any leads on it, it was actually the singer's idea to add solos. Towards the end I'm totally ripping off one of the rhythm parts of 1983... (A Merman I Should Turn to Be), but hey, it worked! And nobody knew that but me, and now you since I said something.

Faces in the Wall - I used some slight delay for my leads, which is something I hardly do. But in this case I thought it sounded cool.

Wonderful Dream - My favorite song! I played the volume swells, not the keyboard. I also used some delay on it. That's my Dad's phone ringing and him talking. It sort of destroyed the mood of the song there, I wish he had put his phone on vibrate and gotten up to answer. Oh well. :P

New Song - There's no name for it yet. The other guys in the band thought it sounded like 80's post punk, but I gave it 60's rock treatment. I wish you hear my tone on better on the part where I'm using a really fast chorus to get something of a rotary speaker effect, but I must have put too much distortion on it for that part.

Oh yeah, and the awesome thing is that even though the style of music is different and my tone is different, you can still tell that it was recorded in the same room as this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHrBY6BS41o

You can also tell that someone is turned up a lot louder than me. I guess one Fender Deluxe VM is no match for a couple of Vibroverbs and Super Reverbs. Must have been awful having to drag those up the stairs.

Sounds like it was a great show. Your playing has really come a long way, Becks. I'm really looking forward to hearing you play live in a few weeks! 8)

Whoever is doing the vocals is great.

Yes, she is! She wrote all of those songs too. It's been an honor to be paired up with such a talented vocalist, and the entire band really. They're all college kids, I'm in highschool. I'm the youngest and least experienced, so I've had to really stay on my toes to try and keep up. But so far they've been very patient with me, which is something I very much appreciate. :D

I think the talking on wonderful dream actually made it more interesting, like the way there is talking on dark side of the moon.

Maybe we should overdub a bunch of phones ringing and people talking, and then say it was on purpose.
